Overcoming financial struggles and family hardships to build a career in healthcare.
BACKGROUND:
My name is Deepa Rajak. My journey began in the Hirapur area of Burnpur, where I grew up in a financially struggling family I lost my father at an early age, and currently my mother is the only earning member of our family. She works as a domestic helper in different households to manage our family expenses and support our daily livelihood. Despite many hardships, I completed my education up to Higher Secondary.
FAMILY & FINANCIAL SITUATION:
After my father’s passing, our family went through severe financial hardship. My mother worked tirelessly to support my education and meet our daily needs. During this difficult time, I realized the importance of becoming financially independent so that I could support my family and help improve our situation.
MY TRAINING JOURNEY:
Determined to build a stable and professional career, I enrolled in the General Duty Assistant (GDA) training program. Throughout the course, I fully committed myself to the curriculum, maintaining discipline and consistency in my studies. I remained eager to learn new skills and actively improved my practical knowledge to prepare myself for a healthcare career.

EMPLOYMENT & IMPACT:
Upon successfully completing my training, I took part in the Placement Drive Program. I was thrilled to be selected by 2050 Health Care for the position of Home Care Assistant.Â
Currently, I am posted in Kolkata, where I earn a monthly salary of approximately â‚ą11,400. This opportunity has transformed my life; I am now able to support my family financially and provide the stability we once lacked.
My journey stands as a testament to how skill-based training and placement support can empower youth from economically challenged backgrounds. This program not only provided me with employment opportunities but also helped me build a sustainable livelihood and a secure future, enabling me to move forward with confidence and dignity.
